Offences against the Dead.

In every thing that relates to the dead, Religion, or if
the term please better, Superstition comes in intervenes,
and adds it's caprices to the natural caprices of the imagination.
To all these fancies the laws of the country legislator
will find himself obliged to have respect.

These prejudices it is well known have been
taken advantage of by legislators for the purpose of
punishing those delinquents whom death shall have has snatched
out of their hands. In France, in the Austrian dominions,
and probably upon in other parts of the continent Abuse of Justice Punishment Times Imprison & Presence Banishment Restraint or Arresting Remedy — Prosecution
