Of Simple Falshoods

Method pursued in handling the subject of Offences by Falshood
The several sorts of offences by falshood are so
intimately connected that it is rather difficult to
give them a separate consideration. At the same
time the field they occupy is so extensive, that
it necessarily embraces within its remit a multitude
of cases for which owing to on account of their dependance
upon local circumstances in determinate provision
can have be pointed out. The method therefore

which I shall propose under this such is as follows:
I shall first endeavour to settle the notion of
the several offences that belong to it separately by a set of definitions
which as far as they go, might may answer in
good some measure the purpose of exhibiting the law in
terminii. Having proceeded thus far in the regular
track I shall stop there and consider as to what change my route, give and give
