Cancelled Of Perjury.

As to the several kinds of Perjury, it is
manifest that were we to state in stating them we should have
precisely the same ground to travel over, as
we have travelled over already for the purpose of stating
the several kinds of Forgery. Of This labour
therefore may without impropriety be dispenced
with.

The business in
With regard to the punishment, the
business to provide such a variety of in the degrees of the characteristic
part of the punishment, as shall correspond to the
variety of the offences for which it is required.
For this purpose two species will here as in
Forgery be sufficient, considering the varieties
that one the lesser of them will admitt of in point
of publicity. These are 1. The afflictive
punishment of the tongue spike: 2. the ignominious punishment exhibited by the like machine. For both of which see Tit. [Punishment.] In personalibus tatio care compensationis: in reliquis, tatio. Exemptionum, nihil. Aliud facto delicto concursere, aliud delinquenti post modum succurrere.
