Of Perjury Falshoods.

A strong or intense belief — a weak belief. In general Upon the whole however a man's belief of a fact may
be said to be strong or intense when the number of chances
in favour of the reality of the fact appears to
him considerably much greater than the number of
those against it's reality: weak, where but
little greater. More generally
Strength or intensity of belief how measured More generally; — The strength or intensity of a man's belief
is as the ratio of the apparent chances in favour
of that the reality of the fact to that of the
apparent chances against it.
Strength of an averment, how measured. Correspondent to the strength or intensity of
the belief averred, is the strength or intensity of the
averment. The strength of an averment is as the
strength of the belief which is averred.
And this moreover may be in point of strength exactly equal to or greater
or less than the belief really entertained.
