1. C Of Polygamy.
1 Polygamy defined. Polygamy is where a married man person engages in a subsequent
marriage during the continuance of a former , marriage which renders
the latter void. To p. 7.

2 Punishment for Single Polygamy in a Married Man. If a married man without excuse commit Polygamy
with a single woman his punishment shall be as follows:
1. [He shall be ignominiously punished by the Characteristic penance —] Polygamist's Yoke+ + See Tit. [Punishments].
2. [He shall forfeit forever all Forfeiture of] marital rights.
3. Characteristic stigma. In token thereof he shall be indelibly stigmatized in the neck
with the Polygamist's Chain.
4. Repudiation The first Wife may put him away and in that case the second(A)
shall have her choice of him . If she will have him, he shall
be her husband. If not, and he has three Wives living, the third
shall have her choice of him: and so on with respect to any other
Wives.
5. If he have converted to his own use the property of any of
his Wives, and no one of them will have him, he may be punished
pro-tanto as for Sharping Defraudment
Exposition.
[(A) Second] By the second Wife is here meant she who would have
been his Wife had the former marriage been terminated before the
