Modifications of Family relationship analysed. Of The offences which respect the conditions of
parentality and filiation may be distributed distinguished
under in the first place into 1. such as
respect the conditions themselves, and consequently the whole together of the advantages and disadvantages incident to those conditions; and 2. and such
as respect particular articles in the catalogue of the rights and duties incidental
those advantages and disadvantages to those conditions. Offences belonging to the
former of these divisions may be all comprised under
the general name of Genealogical Imposture. Falshoods touching
Genealogy. (a) Note (a) In Latin the genus of offences here in view might be termed in one word Pseudo-genealogismus A Genealogical Imposture — it is evident there Of this offence it is evident, there
may be various species; which to give the
better insight into this part of the subject it
may be of use to mention here. Family
relationship in which nature has any concern, are is either constituted either by nature
alone, or by nature and institution together.
Of The former kind are those which are
termed relationships of consanguinity; these may also be termed natural: or purely natural. The latter
those which are constituted by termed relationships
by marriage or affinity; these may also be termed semi-natural. Relationships by affi- consanguinity
are either immediate or remote: the
immediate ones are those which subsist between
Parent on the one hand and Child on the other.
Such as are remote are either in the direct line or in the collateral.
