Question V.
Why the concealment of the place is made
a ground of aggravation.
Reasons
1. Because it encreases the difficulty of detection:
and thereby See above Quest. IV. and thereby
encreases the uncertainty of punishment, deliverance
and compensation and punishment: as
also the strength of the temptation. To p. 49. 15.
2. Because by encreasing the difficulty of detection
it encreases the primary mischief of the offence
in point of duration: to wit the primary, and
thence also the secondary
3. Because by encreasing as it encreases the difficulty of
detection it encreases the uncertainty mischief diminishes the chance which the party
injured would otherwise of had of receiving compensation:
and thereby encreases in an indirect way
the clear value of the mischief of the offence. In
the first place of the primary: and thence also
