Of Semi-public Offences in general.

8. Offences against Property 8. Offences against Property. These may all of them
to the present purpose admitt of a joint consideration.
Offences against property affecting are the may come to be of a
admitts of semi-public nature in two cases. 1. where an indeterminable
multitude of individuals suffer jointly by
one and the same incident: 2. where they suffer
severally by separate incidents. (It is to be observed
that a number of individuals persons may be individuals deemed individually indeterminable,
whenever it is either impossible to determine
them or not worth the while.) The first case is that
where the property in respect of which the class of
individuals in question suffers is this joint property an article in which
the whole class have a joint interest: whether that interest be a fiduciary or administrational interest only, or a beneficial interest only, or both both together together. which is the Of this nature are some of the offences
which have been already noticed as being capable in
particular cases of being regarded displaying them selves
in the shape of offences against person. So also the
stealing or embezzling money or otherwise obtaining by any of the offences against property for instance which is
the property of a corporation: The stealing destroying or endamaging
of miles-stones, direction posts, fountains statues or
pieces of ornamental architecture that contribute to the designed for the convenience
or amusement of those who travel in over such or such a
road. The destroying of it or endamaging of churches Town-houses
Market-places, or Churches: the destroying endamaging or stealing
