or the abuse.
10. Offences against Condition 10. Offences against condition. Upon looking over the
catalogue of these offences it will appear manifest
that there is not any one of them that by any circumstances
can be made to assume a semi-public nature.
There is never any more than one particular
person (or what comes to the same thing a very small number of determinate
persons) against whom they can be levelled: and that
person is always so peculiarly circumstanced that
whatever danger of this the kind in question may threaten him, is
so peculiarly to his situation cannot affect
any body else.

Neither can those offences where brought to the length of consummation assume a semi-public nature:
except in virtue of the offence against property which
they include. The persons who (if more than one) who
are robbed, or on whom a force is put while property
is destroy'd can never be other than determinate.
The attempt to rob may however may however
in one case threaten affect a whole class or neighbourhood: to wit To p. 29. 2.
