Frauds relative to the Coin. upon the Coinage

Punishment for diminishers and counterfeiters of the Coin and Their Confederates. If A defraudment by bad Forgery upon the coin is where any one, with a fraudulent intent (A), is concerned (B)
in diminishing (C) or counterfeiting (D) the genuine Coin (E) of this or any
foreign state; or in uttering, in confederacy (F) with a person thus so
concerned, any diminished or counterfeit Coin, knowing it
so to be. his punishment shall be as follows To No 3. this page

Punishment

2 1. He shall be indelibly stigmatized; and with this condition he Indelible stigma: This at all events
shall do public Penance. See Tit [Punishments] 2. Characteristic penance. This also at all events
3. Confinement He shall be confined to Hard-labour for [five] Years.
This also at all events.
4. The Forfeiture of the instruments of the crime. shall be forfeited to the State. This also at all events.
5. Rendering the knave's account. This also at all events. He shall be made to account for his whole fortune. See Tit.
[Punishments]
6. The rest of his Effects shall be disposed of as if he were dead. Disposal of his effects as if he were dead: if he
has neither wife, nor descendants, nor progenitors living,

where the intent as to make a profit (AA) which a man knows to be
unlawful by causing a diminished or counterfeit piece to pass for
more than it is worth. D.
