Pt III 19 C Frauds relative to the Coin

knowing them to be such: unless he can make it appear
that the money from whence they were taken was forthwith
melted down or otherwise defaced: and all such clippings
or filings shall be forfeited to the State.

Provisions of Precedure. 1.

Coining Tools &c may be seized. Any Person who can find any instrument calculated
for Coining in any other place than the public mint or
such place to which it may have been lawfully carried by
authority from the mint, may seize the same wherever it is
and carry it forthwith to the Judge. See the Law concerning
the securing of things to be produced in evidence.

Also Filings &c if in the same place. Any person who can find any clippings(A) or filings
of any current Coin in the same place(B) with any instrument
calculated for unlawful Coinage, or in the possession of
any person who has any such instrument also in his possession
may seize and dispose of them in the same manner.
