5 Forgery Observations.
Upon the whole therefore what I give here I give rather
as a rough outline [than as a finished plan] of what might be
done in the case of the offence in question, than as a finished
plan
Other methods of arrangement proposed. If the details of the Law on this head were once settled other
plans might be adopted which would have the advantage over
that adopted here, either in point of amplitude and accuracy or in
point of conciseness.
1. One adapted to the purpose of amplitude and acuracy. In point of amplitude and accuracy it might be more advantageous
perhaps to + + make a forgery on ground of aggravation mark out a separate species of Forgery
for every other separate species of offence to which Forgery is capable
of being rendered subservient, and to insert a chapter upon
that species of forgery immediately or closely after the chapter
relative to such principal offence. In such case as Forgery is
but a particular aggravated kind of attempt, it would be proper
to prefix to every such Chapter on Forgery a correspondent
Chapter on Attempts. On the same plan it might likewise be proper
perhaps to have separate chapter concerning such menacements threats
as have relation to the prinicipal offence in question. Upon this plan
