No. 29, Henrietta Street, Covent Garden.
November 1, 1826.

A. STAHELE, (from Switzerland, formerly Headmaster of Fellenberg's Establishment, and
private Lecturer of the Academy at Berne,) has the honour to announce to the Nobility, Gentry and
Public in general, that he intends to commence business as a German and Classical Bookseller, on the
15th instant.

In soliciting their support and patronage, A. S. begs leave to state, that the death of
Mr. Bohte, and the subsequent abandonment of the concern by Mrs. Bohte, appeared to him to have
made a new Establishment of this kind desirable, in order to promote the literary intercourse between
England and Germany. Educated at a celebrated University in Germany, and personally acquainted
with the most distinguished Scholars of that Country, A. S. will endeavour to avail himself of his
knowledge of Literature, to procure such Publications as, by their intrinsic value, are likely to prove
acceptable to the English readers.

Having just returned from a journey to Germany, undertaken with a view to an Establishment
in England, A. S. can confidently state to the Public, that he has brought over a most valuable stock of German editions of Greek and Latin Classics, together with a selection of the most interesting books in every department of German Literature, of which a Catalogue will be shortly published.

A. S. has also brought over from Germany a Collection of Music by the most eminent and
popular Composers.

A SUBSCRIPTION LIBRARY OF GERMAN BOOKS AND PERIODICAL WORKS will be opened
immediately. THE TERMS ARE:—£1 10s yearly —17s half yearly—9s quarterly—3s 6d a month.
The whole proceeds of the Subscription shall be set apart as a Subscription Fund, for the purchase of Magazines,
and the accounts be submitted to the Subscribers. Not only German, but also English, French
and Italian Magazines will be kept, and any proposals of the Subscribers readily complied with, if the
means of the Subscription Fund allow it. The just prices will be set down in the accounts, and the
most expeditious mode to get the Foreign Magazines be adopted. The Subscribers in town shall have
them sent home, and taken back on regular days.
