Thus it was, that to save to no worthier or higher purpose than the saving a few negligent men from
the reproach of negligence (for though negligence was
proved upon them, worse than negligence was not either
proved or probable) the chief great wish of the Revolution
was attempted to be do undone. To roast an
egg a piece for a few idlers, more the constitution was
endeavoured to be set on fire. to have been consumed reduced to ashes. Happily a man as
much more honest and clear-headed than either of that as he was less
audacious, bold ran in and quenched it, smothered the flame (before any material
mischief had been done.) and beat the fire brand out of
their hands.

That this attempt though but in part successful
(successful so far as concerned the obtaining an indemnity
which though so audaciously rejected, could not under the
circumstances of the case could not be refused) that this
attempt on the f part of the father should have been saved regarded
taken
as a precedent by to the son, seems natural enough.

instead of the history of Jack the Giant — Killer and the Seven
Champions to a child bred to oratory and politics the species sort of crafts called politics from his cradle. Many a laugh must have
must have been been the laughs raised at the domestic board, by the recollection
of that aerial voyage, havoc rubs and
scratches got received in the course of it.
