have been the main spring, or rather the only
 spring, arrived as well as trial, of whatever 
in the quarter region of the Treasury. In
 the concluding paragraph of the title appropriated 
to that subject, after showing in demonstrating
 in a strain of reasoning which it is as easy 
to turn aside from as it is impossible to invalidate,
 — after demonstrating 
+ + by logic, by "arithmetic — by every source of argument, that [by such arguments as] could have properly be brought forward by that authority at that time 
 the portentous radical and
 exorbitant incompetency diametrical and radical repugnancy of that establishment to 
every end of its institution they finish with the Committee finishes 
 these words "Your Committee recommend 
"can not but recommend, as a measure necessary 
"to enable the House to form a proper judgment,
 "that as soon as convenient, after 
 "the next arrivals, information should be called 
 "for, on a plan equally copious, exhibiting 
"the state of the Colony down to the latest 
 "period."
The next arrivals came, and the next to 
them: and so on arrivals after arrivals to the 
present time. And to this , nobody from 
either floor of the Treasury Chambers has dared to let the public or Parliament
 into the secret of the contents.
