Panopticon Bill Post-liberation Options 5.
Guardian's consent to be signified
in time

Art.5. If his or her election be in favour of the wardship of a Friendly
Guardian, he or she shall at the same time name such Guardian producing
at the same time on the part of the person so named a written undertaking
expressive of his consent to take upon him such charge: which said election shall
in the event of the said Guardian's having in the mean time justified himself as
a good and sufficient Bondsman in manner hereafter mentioned, be on that
day three months (to wit Calendar months) conclusive as well against the said
Prisoner as against the Governor.

Provision for substitution of
Guardians, in case of death or
insufficiency

Art. 6. If before the expiration of the Prisoner's term, such intended
Guardian should die, or in any of the ways hereinafter mentioned become
insufficient, the Prisoner may name another in his stead, and so toties
quoties provided that between the notice of consent on the part of the Guardian
so named and the expiration of the said term there be always three month's
time for the justification of such Guardian and the proceedings preparatory
thereto, in the manner hereafter mentioned.

Prisoner, on the expiration of
his term, be delivered in
charge, according to his Election

Art. 7. Each Prisoner shall upon the day of expiration of
his or her term be delivered to the care and custody of a proper person, according
to the election so made as aforesaid: to wit, if in favour of the Metasylum to
the Agent of the Governor for the Metasylum: if in favour of the Wardship
of a Friendly Guardian, to the said Friendly Guardian or his Agent
sufficiently authorized: if in favour of the service of his Majesty or that of
the East India Company aforesaid, to the proper Recruiting Officer respectively
belonging to each service.
