The losses afforded by the passage is an
instructive one: it shews the consequences of that may
result from the first false step — the first deviation
from the path of probi probity and innocence. public virtue. The object option
was between peculation and peculation: — or if
peculation be not the proper term between
waste and waste. Whether on the one hand the £12,000 paid
