Thames Police Bill.
And be it further enacted that if, within
the limits aforesaid, If for the purpose of preventing the seizure
or and discovery of goods or valuables unlawfully obtained from
or discovery of any materials, furniture, stores or merchanidizes
or any other article or articles unlawfully obtained from
any ship or Vessel any such goods or any other goods
article or articles into the Thames is wilfully suffered to fall
be thrown overboard from such
Vessel such
Ship or Vessel or from any or wilfully let fall into the Thames or in any other manner
secretly or purposely or secretly conveyed away from any Vessel Ship or
Vessel, Boat, Wharf or other Landing place every
person party or privy to such throwing letting fall or conveying
away or to any previous
instruction or premeditated
design
so to throw let fall
or convey away
any such which
with any such purpose as aforesaid shall
on be deemed and adjudged guilty of a misdemeanor: and shall suffer
as hereinafter mentioned:
and if
within the limits aforesaid any article of or
articles which by their bulk and appearance app appear capable
of being of any value should be observed
to be thrown from any Boat, or from any Ship or Vessel
otherwise than by order & with the privity
of the person commanding and having charge of
the same such Ship or Vessel, or from any Wharf or Landing
place as aforesaid, it shall be lawful to and
for any such Thames Police Constable as aforesaid
with such assistance
of , as
he can procure, to seize and apprehend any or every person being
at such time in such Boat, and every any or every other person
who by reason of his or her vicinity to the spot from
whence such article or articles shall appear to have
been thrown let fall or convey'd away from such Ship or Vessel
Wharf or Landing place, or shall appear to
or shall be suspected by such Constable of have
being accessory privy or accessory thereto
and forthwith to convey every such person
or cause them to be conveyed every such suspected person every such person
or suspected person
before some Justice or
Justices as aforesaid: and if upon examination
it
