Thames Police Bill

If any person will And be it further enacted, that every
person to whom any materials furniture merchandizes stores
person Every person to whom any goods stores or
merchandise or any other valuables article or articles
things belonging to any Ships or Vessels any ship or vessel shall be
brought and or offered to be sold, pawned or delivered deposited
shall and he is or she is hereby impowered and
required (the bu he or she having reasonable
cause as aforesaid to suspect that such article or articles merchandise
goods, stores or things be have been
stolen or unlaw stolen or unlawfully come by obtained
from and out of any vessel ship or vessel stationed in the
said Thames, within the limits aforesaid or from any other place to which
the same have been removed, mediately or immediately
from any such Ship or Vessel) to apprehend
seize and carry convey or cause to be conveyed before a any Justice or Justices of the Peace
for the County, City, Division, Liberty or Place
where the same shall be have been so brought
& or offered, the person or persons so bringing or
offering the same, or else to deliver him her or
them into the custody of any such Thames
Police Constable as aforesaid by whom in such case
he she or they such suspected person or persons shall thereupon be carried before any
such Justice or Justices and in the mean time to seize such suspe
such materials, furniture, stores, merchandizes or other valuables article or articles
such merchandises, goods, stores or things: and
such person or persons so apprehended shall be
dealt with, and such article or articles so secured merchandizes, goods, stores
or things shall be deposited and disposed of in the
same manner as if he, she or they such suspected person or persons had been
apprehended and secured such article or articles respectively secured by any such Constable, as aforesaid
stable as aforesaid
