Elucidations
relative to the Thames Police Bill

The present Bill

The present embraces two distinct objects
preve detection and prevention and for the accomplishment
of these organizes two connected but equally
distinguishable establishments: viz: an additional
Police Office upon the plan of the existing
Police Offices Testimony Offices so called , but confined in its exertions to
offenses of the predatory class, and among them
to such of which the navigable part of the River Thames and the
no Banks adjacent are the scene, and an
a body of appropriate Guards of different classes
and descriptions, whose exertions shall be directed to
the prevention of such enormities.
