II. Commissioners
§To
Marine Police Fund
Fund for
choice of Commrs

And be it further enacted that the Commissioners
fund to be formed for defraying the expenses
occasioned by this Act shall be called the Marine
Police Fund: and the for the raising and issuing
and employing the monies belonging to the said Fund
[ ] Commissioners shall be nominated elected and appointed
in manner following that is to say, the several
Corporate Bodies and Classes of Merchants and Planters various
other persons a list of whom is contained in the
Schedule marked [ A ] and to this Act annexed
shall nominate and appoint each of them the Commissioners
shall on the of next ensuing respectively meet at
such places as are respectively mentioned in the said
Schedule aforesaid between the hours of in the
morning and in the afternoon and shall then
and there respectively proceed to choose in the way of Ballot
each of them one fit person who shall be a Commissioner
for the execution of this Act: and the
said Commissioners so chosen shall be stiled and intituled
Marine Police Comissioners: Commissioners of the Marine Police Fund: and
Provided always that in the case of Partnership
it shall not be lawful for any more than one
of the Partners, in any such Trading Merchantile House or
Company as aforesaid to vote or attend at any
such meeting as aforesaid: nor shall it be lawful for any person
who shall have voted for or attended at any such meeting holden as aforesaid
by any one of the said classes to vote or
attend at the the meeting to be holden by any other of the said Classes.

Commissioners so elected
and appointed or
thr any three or more
of them at a public
being the majori
which number is a
majority of the Commissioners
assembled
at any public meeting
at their known place
of meeting shall
be competent to do
all such acts and
things as shall require
to be done in execution
of the several powers
hereinafter committed
to their charge: and
in case of an equal
division on any question
then at any such meeting the Chairman or a person acting as Chair of the said Commissioners or in his absence the person acting as Chairman at any meeting shall have a casting vote.
