Grace - that at this same time a document
expressive of the sense of sentiments entertained by the persons concerned
respecting the past as well as probable future
utility of the institution in question - the institution
in behalf of which it was proposed to
apply for further support was an indispensable
requisite to the prosperity of the application: for
except in as far as the gentlemen in question
wish that to be done which the Memorial is
intended to request, what motive or even pretense
can I have to address his Grace?

Such I can assure you, Sir, without the smallest variation were the observations
made by a third person, totally unconnected
with this business, upon the simple perusal
of the papers in question, without any observation
on my part. Struck I must confess with the
force of them when thus presented to me, I could
do no less than submitt them to you, accompanied
with a wish that they may receive
whatever consideration they may appear to deserve
