inadequate and little-executed Act [26.G. 3.c.71.]

amended from time to time by the light of experience.

Penalty for
dealing without

§ 1 Penalty for dealing purchasing without licence, primary forfeiture,
not exceeding [ ] on conviction before an Justice together with the whole stock
so purchased — Penalty for keeping employing draught or Hand
lasts as above, without licence, primary forfeiture
as above, with forfeiture of the last, together with
the loading, if loaded with Second han Goods in respect
of which a licence ought to have been, taken
out but had not been, taken out.

§ 2.
Forfeiture shall
compose the
whole stock
without separate
proof.

§ 2 in On conviction for purchasing without
When a person is convicted of having purchased un lawfully
pur for sale such and such particular articles without
being licenced so to do the whole stock of articles in his possession in
respect of which a licence ought to have been taken
out, and which appear to have been purchased by him for sale, may be included in the forfeiture, without
proof of purchase applied to any one stock applying to any of the articles in particular.
Whether <add> such and such <add> a certain an article has been</add> purchased for sale, or purchased for home-use
or reduced to the state it is in by home use, is a
matter to be judged if from the quantity and other circumstances
[+] such as that of the Offender having sold articles of a similar nature So in case of a conviction of having
purchased without licence second hand Metals of an unlicenced person purchaser <add> person
in which case such the articles alone as shall have been proved to have been purchased at Licenced persons licenced to purchase the same shall be exempted from of the forfeiture.
