§ Upon reasonable cause of suspicion proved upon Power to a Constable &c by warrant from a Justice
to make search in the Day - time for at any reasonable
time in the day or before [9] in the evening,
in any House &c for goods suspected to have been purchased for
sale, or for working up, without licence, upon reasonable
on warrant granted by a Justice, on reasonable
cause of suspicion proved upon oath, and to
seize all such goods found therein, or in the act of
being removed thereto or theref to or from the place
and to detain secure them, until disposed of conveyed brought before a Justice, for condemnation.
or if too bulky in too great quantity for such
conveyance, disposed of, as below.

Power to a Constable &c to make search after
stolen goods in any house &c after stolen after stolen for goods
suspected to have been stolen for stolen goods on warrant granted
as above, and by night as well as by day, if
specially authorised by the warrant, and with like
special authority, if needful, to enter by force: and
upon finding any such goods to seize them, and
secure them, until conveyed before a justice, or disposed of as below, together with
all such persons in whose possession they are found
or who knowing them to have been stolen or otherwise
feloniously or fraudulently obtained shall appear to
have been privy to their being so concealed or lodged.

Power to the Surveyors &c for entering the Shops
&c of licensed persons, (and in case of an Old Cloathsman causing the pack to be opened) at all reasonable hours
times, and securing the Stock in trade, avoiding as much
as possible to give disturbance, and to inspect, and
take copies from, the Books, required to be kept, as
above.
