Police Surveyor to have
the authority of a Constable,
and to be compellable
by a Justice
to account for moneys
in his hands.

(5) § 11 And be it further enacted that for the
preventing P preserving the peace and preventing
Robberies and other Felonies, and apprehending
Offenders against the peace and executing the
Orders of such Country Commissioners or Police Justices Magistrates and others his
Majesty's Justices of the Peace and doing all
such other things only as he
shall be authorized
and required to do
under in and by virtue
of this Act

at every such
Surveyor so appointed as aforesaid shall within
the County in which the District or Division
in and for which he shall so have been appointed
as aforesaid, possess and exercise the power
and authority and privileges of a Constable so long as he shall
continue in the possession and exercise of such his Office or employment and
no longer: and shall take such on Oath due and faithful
execution of such
his Office, which
said Oath shall
be of such form
and tenor as the
said Commissioners
of Police shall from
time to time appoint,
and shall

of office
to be administered to each such Surveyor him at the time of such his appointment
by the such <add>Country Commissioner Justice or Police Magistrate by
whom he shall be have been appointed as aforesaid according
to the Form marked [ ] and contained in
the Schedule marked [ ] and hereunto annexed:
and every such Police Surveyor shall remitt to the said Board the
produce of the Duties so by him collected and if together with all
such other monies, if any, as shall be in his
hands belonging and appertaining to the said
Police Fund, weekly and through the medium of the
General Post or at such other times and in such
other manner as the said Board shall from time
to time direct: and in case any such Surveyor
shall at any time be in arrear in respect of any such
payment as aforesaid it shall be lawful to & for the Justice
or Police Magistrate of such his District or Division
as aforesaid, or any other
Justice of the Peace
acting in and for
such District or Division,
