Powers to Police
Surveyors for inspecting
Stock & Books of
Licenced Purchasers -

§ 35. And be it further enacted, that it shall and
may be lawful to and for every Surveyor, Inspector so appointed
as aforesaid and other officer in that behalf appointed by the
said Commissioners, at all seasonable times to enter
into and upon any and every Shop, Warehouse, Stall, Stand, Yard Gard or
other place or trade or business and to view and
inspect the Stock of there
being in or about every
such Shop or other place
of trade or business, avoiding
as much as
possible may be to give any
disturbance to the same
in the occupation of every person
licenced as a Purchaser of Second-hand Household
Goods, a Wholesale Purchaser of Rags and Cordage for
sale to Paper-makers, a Retail Purchaser of Rags
and Cordage for sale to Paper-makers, a Purchaser
of Second-hand Apparel, Piece-Goods and Remnants
for sale, an Itinerant a Walking Purchaser
of Second-
hand Apparel, Piece-Goods and Remnants for sale,
a Wholesale Purchaser of Second-hand metals for
sale, a Retail Purchaser of Second-hand Metals
for sale. a Purchaser
of Second-hand Metals of
persons in general for working up,
a Purchaser Melter of
Second-hand Metals
of persons in general
for melting not
purchased of licenced
purchasers
a Metal-
Founder a Purchaser of Second-hand Building-
Materials for sale, a Keeper of Draught
Carts for second-hand goods purchased for sale,
a Keeper of Hand-Carts for second-hand goods
purchased for sale, a Seller of Forfeited Pledges, or a seller of Forfeited Pledges,
a Purchaser of Ships Stock
for sale, a livery Stable Keeper a Slaughterer, Flenser and Boiler
a Gunpowder Maker,
a Wholesale Gunpowder
Dealer, a Retail
Gunpowder Dealer, a
Dealer in Maker of
Small Fire-Arms,
a Dealer in Small
Fire Arms, an Artillery
Founder, or a Manufacturer
of Edged and Pointed
Weapons:
as
also at any and every all seasonable times or hours to search into and cause
to be opened by and and examine the contents of any
and every pack or bundle which any and every pers such
Itinerant Walking Purchaser of Second-hand Apparel,
Made-up Piece-goods and Remnants, shall
have about his or her person or otherwise in his or her possession
when going to and fro or being at any House
or place in the exercise of such his or her occupation, or
otherwise
