V. Preocedure &c
(9) §. 40.
Board to have
judicial authority cognizance
in the London
Police District, as
the Excise in the
London District
of the Excise.
And be it further enacted that all such
judicial proceedings as shall be carried on as aforesaid
proceedings as aforesaid in matters arising
in and concerning matters arising
within the said London Police District, may
be carried on either by or before any one or
more Justices of the Peace as aforesaid or
by or before the said Commissioners of the Board of Police:
and for the hearing and determining all such
matters as aforesaid so arising the Co said Commissioners
shall and may possess and exercise the same power and
authority within the said District, as is or shall under the laws
be possessed and be exercised in virtue of any
law or laws made or to hereafter to be made
or shall be in being are possessed and exercised by the Commissioners of
Excise within the London District of the Excise:
and in case any persons shall conceive
himself aggrieved by any conviction conviction, or by any order or by any warrant
of conviction, or commitment, or distress, made
by the said Commissioners, it shall be lawful to
and for every such person to appeal to the such Commissioners
of appeal as shall have been duly appointed by
for hearing and determining appeals from orders in matters
made heard and determined by the Commissioners of Excise: and
the proceedings in every such appeal shall be
carried on in like manner as the proceedings the proceedings in
Appeals to the General or Quarter Session of the
peace as aforesaid. are herein appointed to be
carried on as a aforesaid.
