§. 48.
every such Clerk or other proper Officer who shall neglect or without reasonable
and sufficient excuse omitt to fill up or in any particular
or to transmitt return according to such instructions, every within
such reasonable compass of time as shall have been therein limited,
any such blank form when so transmitted as aforesaid,
shall, for every such omi offense, forfeit and pay the sum of [ £ 10 ] to be recoveredable
with costs of suit, by Action in any the Court of Kings Bench
at Westminster, in which no
Essoign, Privilege,
or Protection, nor
more than one Imparlance
shall be allowed
or in the Court of Session Exchequer at Edinburgh,
as the case may be, by him that will sue:
one moiety thereof to be returned for the own use of such Informer, the other
moiety to be paid within week after the receipt thereof
and payable to the said Commissioners or their
to the Receiver of the said Police Fund and by him applied
Receiver to the use of and to to be by them applied be applied in augmentation
of the said Police Fund same carried to
and made part of the same
one moiety thereof to be paid together with costs
of suit to be paid by the proper officer to such Informer for his own
use, immediately
after the receipt
thereof by the Officers
receiving the same
the other moiety to be paid within one week
after the receipt thereof to the in that part of

weeks after the receipt thereof in Scotland, to
