P.. Carts or Trucks kept by Dealers in Stones or Metals. I have no doubt
but that every Person keeping the above Vehicles, for collecting Stones or
Metals, can well afford to pay the Duty, as a very great part of them
are at present are moving receptacles for Stolen property of various kinds.
In making this declaration I do not go by Hear-say I know and
can prove them to be so.
I shall not at this time intrude any longer upon your
Patience than to request you will excuse me Should I have ignorantly
mistaken the meaning of any of the Clauses; but should any doubts or
objections arise, which my intimate acquaintance with the different
Grades, may in any small degree assist you to remove, I shall be at
all times happy to do it, and am willing to answer upon Oath if
required, before any Man or set of Men any questions which can possibly
tend to elucidate the Subject.
