Against the obligation of keeping the sort of
Books in question, the trouble of the task may
be considered regarded as forming a considerable objection —
but upon a closer inspection, the objection will, it is presumed,
be found to vanish. Either a man would
have kept kept the Books, and made the entries in question of
his own accord, and without any such obligation,
or he would not: in the first case there is not
trouble does not exist by the supposition; in the other the trouble will find an ample compensation
in the benefit it will be attended with to the
individual himself, and his connections those with whom he deals
over and above the public benefit, as redemption
to the attainment of which the presumed obligation is directed.of which it is proposed to be imposed Not

is engaged concerned in trade, he owes it to himself
and family to keep Books — he owes it to by
a still stronger tie, to his creditors: and the more particular and
instructive these Books are, the better for all
