Power to Surveyor
to inspect Palces of
Trade and Books
of Persons Licenced
Purchasers
otherwise, as also to inspect and take extracts and
or cause to be taken extracts or copies from, only and
every Book, which by direction of the said Commissioners
or otherwise shall have been kept by any
and every licenced person under and by
virtue of this Act:
Provided always that
no such entry be made into the any place bona fide employ'd as a foundry, manufactory
or other place of work by any person licenced
as a Gunpowder Maker, a Maker of Small
Fire-arms, and Artillery-Founder, [a Manufacturer
of edged and pointed weapons, without
special authority in writing, given to the every person
so making entry, by the said Commissioners; which
said authority shall not be given issued till after
reasonable notice given by such Commissioners
to the party into whose place of work as
aforesaid entry is to be made: and [+] [+] in the case where in the carrying on of any such manufacturing concern any peculiar modes of operation shall be practiced by any such manufacturer not generally known to other persons engaged in the same branch of manufacture the said
Commissioners are hereby directed not to give issue
any such authority without taking [+] on the application of such party such reasonable all such and necessary party
precautions and as the as can
reasonably be required, to prevent any such
peculiar modes of operation from being divulged
or learnt by any person so making entry as
aforesaid.
