This novel is such curried caggmagg I shall never
be able to get through. Puss has got the "Lounger" -
send me that -
Exchequer Bills - I have been reading about them
in Acts of Parliament - How shall I do to know about
them what I know through you about Navy-Bills without
coming to town on purpose and consuming a day or two
upon it? Peyton and Dawes Threadneedle Street behind
the Change are the Brokers I used to employ - I forget
whether you know them - They pimp for Exchequer Bills as well
as other things, for those Bills are on the lists of the prices of Stocks
I find by the Act of Parliament they have or ought at least to have
the edges indented being cut off from a correspondent leaf
kept in a book - Size of Paper - and amount of the sum -
i:e: of the smallest sum they are offered for are what I want
to know - item what the hieroglyphics mean that exhibit their
prices among the Stocks in the Newspapers - the premium seems to
be exactly the same as it upon the India Bonds - interest I believe 4
