relative to the proposed Form of a proposed Annuity
Note.

[1] [N<hi rend='superscript'>o. 17,545</hi>] The No will of each note will be
as it were the name of the note. It will be the characteristic
and the only characteristic by which each individual
note will stand distinguished from every other.

[2] [£6.6.'] The use of these figures made large
as in Bank Notes is — in the first instance rather
to help distinguish this species of Paper from Bank
and other Paper to a cursory glance: but if, as
proposed in process of time, other Annuity notes of half the
value of these notes should come to be issued, it will
be still more necessary, for the purpose of distinguishing
these £6 six guinea notes, from the other three
guinea notes

A remarkable circumstance is — that there is but
one day in the year on which — supposing this species
[3] [Engraved head of the Auditor of the Exchequer]
of currency paper to pass current obtain currency, and to pass without
discount (which it will as hath been will be shewn — it will
do, or nearly so if it passes at all) the real and current value
will agree with the denominated value thus given
to it — and that is the first day of the Year, supposing
it to be issued on that day: since on every succeeding
day the value of these will be swelled by the
addition of interest, in the proportion exhibited by the
Table. But this is no more than what holds equally
good in the instance of Gov the Government Paper called
Exchequer Bills as well as in the East India Company's
Paper called India Bonds, though in neither
instance is there any Table given to indicate it.
