[15] [At any General Post-Office] For the convenience
resulting from the application of this existing stock
of offices old established Government Offices to the
proposed new use, see the Section relative to the Mode
of Payment.

[18] [Grenville Auditor &c] It would evidently be
impracticable or at least not worth while, that the
time of a great Officer of State should be consumed
in this mechanical function of signing such a multitude
of notes. A stamp with a fac simile signature, intrusted
to the custody of a confidential Clerk would
effectually answer the purpose. Exchequer Bills bear the
[ ][Charles Cole, Issuing Clerk]
signature, written or engraved, of the present noble Lor
Auditor, whose name is here is here employ'd for illustration.
But supposing it written in this instance of the existing
Exchequer Bills, it would not follow that this would be
practicable in the case of the proposed Annuity Notes.
Sum for sum To compose constitute a given sum it requires
near 16 times as many of these Notes as of these
Bills: and the expectation is, that in process of time
the amount of these Notes will be become much greater
than that of the mass Exchequer Bills outstanding issued
outstanding at any one time.
