times between taking in the course of circulation, and
purchasing: if he purchases, he pays the small fee
on the purchase of the article, and he is at the trouble
of repairing to the shop for it: but he has it in his
own quantity, and at his own time: if he waits
to receive it in payment, he saves that small trouble
together with the small expense attached to it; but
then he takes his chance as to the getting of it, and
is obliged all the time to load encumber his mind with the task
of looking out for it. On this, as in all other business
the thing to be avoided as much as may
be is complication; in the present instance the complication
of an agio as between the price of purchased
paper of this kind and paper received in the course
of currency: By from whence would result two
prices of the same which at same time; and one
of them at least, if not both, varying from and disagreeing
with the price indicated and certified as it
were upon the back of the Note, as will be seen presently
. By rendering the fee on purchase anu so small;
and the trouble of purchase so slight, as (it is hoped)
it will be found to be, the complication and perplexity
here in question is endeavoured to be avoided.
