Dean Andrews
Only ale drinkers

Nature of these
sentiments. Sentiments
to inculcated of
which Jesus religion, owes its
title to favour, undistinguishing
benevolence.
Andrews,
directly opposite

As to the affections themselves by what account that
can be given of can justice be done to them? Affections
of equal and undiscriminating undistinguishing benevolence and philanthropy
are the affections in the inculcation of which its tendency to inculcate which
the religion of Jesus was consisted by its only title to favour in the
eyes of any class part of the population of a state,
the governors or the governed. Affections The affections
avowed in this letter what are of what are they? of a sort diametrically
opposite to those affections by which that
religion is characterized distinguishes itself from every
other.

Concern here
preaching Christian
benevolence, then
stripping it off with
his gown, and begging
impunity for a
defrauder and public
poisoner: only because
the poisonees are no
better than ale-drinkers

Follow this very Reverend and it is said eloquent
person to the theatre of his eloquence — f listen to him
which in the pulpit picking for his text the parable of
Dives and Lazarus or the a portion of the Sermon on the
Mount [or what is still more to the present occasion particularly appropriate
the text Render unto Cæsar the things which are Cæsars]
What unction! what devotion! what glowing periods!
Follow him now to his study — stripping off his piety his Christianity
and charity with his gown and cassock, and writing
a letter to a Minister begging claiming impunity for a defrauder
of the revenue and a wholesale poisoner of the people —
impunity for a man by whom for the harm one one who for the gain that is to be made by it
keeps his equipage Coach by the sale of liquid poison?
why not says the deacon this man of God? if they were of the rank
of life they belonged to was the rank of wine drinkers it will would
be another thing. But who cares or need care any thing about them?
But these people
the only people whose
health one can any
way have been concerned
in this case:
What signifies what
becomes of them?
they are only ale-
drinkers
.
