The God of the nature not being at in his command, human
imagination supplies him with a God — sever and cruel
like himself.

Blasphemy. Bp Burgess p. 16.

Blasphemy! Blasphemy!

Blasphemy

Yes — there lies behold the horror — A man vomits out pours forth
his nonsense and, in pretense of its having come issued
forth from the mouth of God, calls upon all man to
it, on pain of being loaded with all the evil which
with this pretence for oppression in his mouth, he
can contrive to load them with. In vain do they
protest — it is not against God for we are not madmen — it is not against God it is against you and
your fellow oppressors that our reproach is levelled.
Yes says he it is against God — it is against God,
for God and I are one. Yes it is against God — that

put upon his word my interpretation which is the
only true one, are marked out for probable destruction

endless torment in a the life to come.

it is thus applied. It presents to your view a Bishop
Burgess, by whom the idea of so much as a single person individual

meaning out of among those in whose minds
his demonstration of the truth of a self contradictory
arithmetical proposition fails of obtaining acceptance,
fills with a degree of despair by which all the bands
not only of charity but of prudence have been burst
