In the exhibiting of these tokens he would have done
no more than copy the model pattern which, when it suited his
convenience, the act in question having to all appearance
a real existence, he himself had the satisfaction of setting.
In his Report Report II, p. 17 of the proceedings of the
"General Annual Meeting" of "the Society", (meaning
not the General Committee of the Society, but the whole Society)
which meeting, place and day being mentioned
viz Leon College June 2 1813 was it may be presumed
a real one, the two following (p. 16) are among
the Resolutions reported. Resolution 5. "Resolved, on
"the motion of the Same, That the thanks of this meeting
"be given to the Secretary." N.B. The Same has In Resolution
2 the Same has for its antecedent the President:
viz. the Archbishop of Canterbury. Resolution 9. "Resolved
"on the motion of the Same, that a correct statement of
"the proceedings of this Society for the last year be published
"forthwith." And here we have that act of the
whole Society to which we are indebted in the first instance —
for Report I, and thereafter for the two congenial Reports publications
by which it has been followed.
