Appendix V
Archbishop & Co

2 ?10

In the If in the testimony thus given by them of their want
of confidence in you no ground is to be found for any
confidence on your part towards them, will any better
ground be made for it in the fraud system of fraud and deception which you have
seen so much reason for regarding as having from
first to last been practised in their these proceedings and
in the accounts which they have caused or suffered
to be given in them?

Fear not however than in respect of the disposal
of the money for the purposes good and bad together
for which they call for it at your hands any material
fraud if any will be practiced by them
any such fraud as in this pecuniary account
should call upon you to withdraw the pecuniary
part of your confidence. Against To any such practical inference
the view of accounts given of the numbers of Schools
and of the number of Scholars instructed at these
Schools have opposed, and bating any eventual specific
grounds to the contrary will continue to oppose a
sufficient objective.

But another character there is in which they
no only claim but do what in their power lies
towards extracting from you your confidence and that is
the character of your guides through the paths of pure morality
to the regions of salvation and over the precipices
at the bottom of which lie the region of damnation, to
the region of salvation. Look to their rules of morality
as contained in their Catechism and developed in this the
Comment here made in it look to their practise as displayed
in the Introduction to this work — and when you have so done
lay
lay your each of you
his hand upon his
heart — and let him
ask himself — in for my
conduct journey through this
life in for my journey
towards the life to come,
men such as they these
can they be fit guides?
are they that sort of guides in whom with any tolerable chance for security, any such confidence can be placed?
