§.7. Causes of the creation and preservation of this formulary
its subserviency to the sinister interests of its creators

(a) By Dr Laud, before he was Archbishop of Canterbury,
but while, with in no higher titles offices than those of Bishop of London
and Prime Minister he was governing the English Church,
it is the reader need not wonder at seeing the pains taken
to confirm Parish Ministers to the teaching of a Catechism,
doubtless of course this Catechism — and for what purpose?

it may be seen whether this same blessed useful formulary
maybe has not been converted converted into a substitute to the Bible: and by in Part

Sutton that the substitution has been accomplished.
