Dear Sir

I write this for the purpose of
requesting to know whether it may be
known at Paris & where I am indebted
for the translation with which you have
favoured me. Letter The translation of
Letters & together with the original is
gone to La Fayette's where it will
be looked at by him, by Benjamin
Constant, and by I know not who
binder.

I had written there for wrote the above 17 Novr I know not
how many days ago. Just now is
arrived from that quarter a letter in
which I am informed that by the further by
restraints which are about to be imposed
upon the liberty of the press the utmost
expedience
