The Pirates of the
Red Sea – commonly called
Wahallies – are not subjects
of the Pacha of Egypt –
(though he conquered them
some few years back, & their
chief was conveyed to Constantinople
where he lost his
head –) his two Sons now
reside in Kahira with
Cousins & relations & others
to the number of about one
hundred as hostages –
they are all well & handsomely
supported for the Pacha.

The number of Youths that
have been sent to France
consist of thirty seven, but
there are also several at Leghorn
& Piza, – studying. –
In London these are
from the Officers of Ibrahim
Pacha, the son of the wife
of Mohamed Ali per a former
husband – Ali Effendi

The names of those young
Turks in London are as
follows. – Ali Effendi. –
