Queens Square Place Westminster
12 May 1818.

1. Completion of Niless Register

2. Professor Cooper — has he received the books
sent to him by Mr Bentham through Mr
Quincy Adams: viz. Codification Papers, and
Chrestomathia: not recollected at present whether
any others. Panopticon it is believed
was one.

3. Governor Clinton — has he received copies
of the above? by Mr Quincy Adams they
were undertaken to be sent circularly to
the Governors of all the United States. One of
them (the Governor of New Hampshire?)
in a letter to Mr B. acknowledged the receipt
of Codification and of Panopticon, but not that of Chrestomathia.
The above is the result of a loose
momentary recollection, from a decaying memory.
