It is on them that all my hopes of doing good are
fixed. I shall then go to the Island of Spazia
where Parry is to be fixed & which is to be our Head
Quarters till Napoli or Athens or some more advantageous
point can be safely resorted to. Spite of my dutiful
letters I am full of hopes. I am one of those fools that
never despond. Of this I am certain that Greece is for
ever lost to the Post. God feared that she may be free &
enlightened as you wish her. Believe me ever Yr. Most
devoted & Most sincere friend
