Copy
Q.S.P. 16th Jan<hi rend="underline">y 1824
My dear worthy. friend,
If you can contrive to give
me your company to-morrow at the convenient
hour, I will shew you a document of some length
which if it seems to you worth while, you may
send a copy of, to our friend Quincey, to whom
I am inclined to think it would not be altogether
uninteresting. I have obtained leave for
this: but it is on the condition of your giving
me your word of honor, not to mention, to
any person here (except Adams Smith who I
take for granted will under the same pledge be
the copyist) either the contents of the Document,
or the fact of your having seen it: &
that you will not permit any copy to be taken
