My dear doctor

I have long been taught to look to
you, not only as the most intelligent and respected as well as faithful, adviser
to but of the most intelligent, and happily the most respected
adviser your country can have. Judge from this, of the satisfaction
afforded me by our friend Bowring, who
has informed me that you had the kindness to consent
to the taking charge of my Constitutional Code,
for the purpose of its being translated into modern
Greek; and the translation, with or without the original,
to be printed at Paris, and the impresses or part of it
transmitted to Greece, by way of Marseilles. It The original is
now at length in a state in which I could venture to
committ it to the press: but the transcription into a legible hand not being
so much as begun, the present opportunity can not
of course serve me for the transmission of it. I avail
myself of it however so far as to transmitt a copy
of a pamphlet of mine, printed a few years ago & under and
the title of Benthams Radical Reform Bills evidently
now by corrections in manuscript, it has transmit filled up, so
as to serve for an Election Code which may form
over a sort of Appendix to the Constitutional Code. Of the 12
Ministers whichwhom the Constitutional Code establishes under
the Prime Minister, (whose situation agrees for the most
part with that of Prudens in the Anglo-American United
States) the election Minister stands the first.

Perhaps I may not be able to compleat the corrections
except for the present opportunity. If so, I shall make
the copy here from the corrections being proceeded.
