Temporary

<p>A Temporary Tollgatherer appointed between 2 Turnpike meetings on a vacancy
by death shall have the same powers & be bound to the same
duties as his predecessor one regularly appointed regularly in the common course possession shall be given of the Toll-house,
with the appurtenances shall be given him (if opposed) afterat the end of 4 days
from after his appointment in like manner,by a Constable properly assisted with necessary assistance upon Warrant
from a Justice; & the persons & goods therein being shall be removed.

A Tollgatherer appointed instead of one discharged shall within after at the end of 2 days
from his appointment after notice given thereof to the other of the discharge, have possession have possession of the Toll-house with the appurtenances given him
(if opposed) by a Constable with necessary assistance, upon Warrant
from a Justice; & the persons & goods therein being shall be removed.

LXIII § 46
A Turnpike Tollgatherer, whether he farm his office, or be otherwise paid,
shall not be removable by virtue of the Poor Laws, unless he have become
chargeable: nor shall he gain a Settlement thereby. nor shall the
Tolls nor Toll-house, nor any one in respect thereof, be liable to any
Parochial Tax.

LXII § 56
A Tollgatherer suffering a carriage liable according to Art. 81, 2 & 3 21, 22, & 23
to be weighed, to pass unweighed, shall at the option of the Trustees, forfeit
£5, or be discharged from his Office & render'd incapable of
holding that or any other under the Trust in question relating to the Land in question.
