Polit. Deontology
Thus it is that in arguing here to the use and enjoyment and preservation with relation to which he has been
accustomed to use or he expect be able to have it in his power to
use as his own, the interest of each man performs the
function of the mainspring of a watch: while in his
endeavours to extend his occupation beyond the limits
of his own property he finds himself in counteracted
by as many conflicting adverse interests as there are in the community,
acting operating in the performing each of them within its
own field or sphere the office performed of a regulator in that
ingenious of mechanism.
In this system of conflict and counteraction the
regulating act obstacle approved opposing force applied by the sum of the defensive resisting self-regarding
interests of every other member to the invading or aggressive action of
the self-regarding interest of each, finds itself seconded
and supported by the force of social or - interest
in the same breast of in that in which the aggressive interest
is considered as operating, any design of invading the
property of another which finds a check on the

to be produced in the breast of those to whom the desired
change would be productive of loss and correspondent
suffering.
