Polit. Deontology
Where in the language – little as they may have expected looked
for it or have a of the principles of
those, whether on a throne or beneath it and looking
up to it these locutions are employed.
Another test and that a more direct one, is the
direct disavowal of the principle of utility in the character
of an all-directing principle: for example any
form of words in which it is spoken of under any
such adjunct appellative as dange mischievous or dangerous
and thus sought to be exposed to hatred: or on the
other hand as speculative, theoretical, visionary
impractical fantastic enthusiastic – and thus
exposed to contempt.
On or about the throne seldom if ever has any man thus
ventured in this direct way to mark out as an object
of reproach – or indeed otherwise than as an object
of respect – the principle of utility as here explained.
It is only under the throne – and by those who
are looking up to the throne that any such dirty/duty
office function task is commonly undertaken and performed. It
is among the services by which they think to earn the
favours to which they aspire.
