Whale Fishery

The cost of Premiums granted to the Whale Fishery amounted
in 1830 to Frs.1142.80. = £45:13:7 per Man – but there were
several claims unsettled which the Minister says (Rapport p 10) will bring
the amount from Frs.1500 to Frs.1600. per Man say £62 or
£1.3.10 p week £5:3:4 for every seaman engaged in the service
The Government must therefore be considered to have paid independently of the Tonnage allowance.
